Re: just use window manager?



Do you reall need the display manager?  If you don't really need it,
or gnome, why don't you uninstall it?  Gnome isn't really a window
manager.  It's a desktop environment that works on top of a window
manager.  This allows for things like drag and drop.

on the other, more helpful side, try man update-alternatives.  This is
how debian controls the system wide x-window-manager.  That may help.

Or perhaps you can edit you ~/.xsession and add something like
exec enlightenment

as the last line.
