Recording and sound effects

Hello all,

I'm searching a program which allows me to record sound from the microphone 
entry of my SBLive and to apply effects on it.
I already tried aRts but it does not seems to allow such recording (at least 
the version for KDE2) and ecasound/ecawave/ecamegapedal but these seems to 
work only with ALSA and I'm looking for something which uses OSS sound 
drivers !

Can anyone suggest me something ?
