Hello, I've used Debian for years and am just now migrating to Woody using the 2.4.18 kernel and XFree 4.1. Its been installed on two machines using the netboot 'bootbf2.4.iso'. While the installs went swimmingly, one an old ASUS dual p200 with Matrox Millenium video and the other a nearly new Gateway sporting an nvidia card and both previously running Potato with 2.4 kernels, the end result seems sluggish relative to Potato. The video particularly has been less stable. I have a firewall project coming up (hardware yet undefined but likely the latest and greatest) and very much want to use Woody with iptable support but don't think I can based on what I've seen thus far. A quick scan of list archives over the last couple months didn't turn up any obvious performance posts so maybe I've just gone brain dead. Any pointers, suggestions, or divine illumination gratefully accepted.
