I can't tell if you know this and are just being a bit sloppy in your
writing, but newbies will definitely be confused.  sid will never be
testing.  When woody becomes stable, the new testing will be given a
completely new name.  sid will always refer to the unstable
distribution.

But I think that you are right that woody+1 would more likely be
numbered 3.1 than 4.0.
