Try putting in something like this in your menu.lst.  For me on a Voodoo
3Dfx card,  it is `video=tdfx:800x600-16@100'.  Insert  the frame buffer
module name for your card instead of tdfx, it can be `vesa' or something
else.  Change values for your need....HTH.
