No problems here with recent Galeon under Sid or Woody.
Suggestions:
- Move your .galeon directory to something else (e.g.: .galeon.bak).
Restart galeon. If it doesn't crash, you've got something
corrupted in your configuration files. I use the halve-and-double
method to winnow this down: copy in half the files (or a given
directory). If the problem appears, remove half of what you just
put it. If it doesn't, add half the remaining files. You'll find
out what specific file is causing the problem in short order.
Commenting (or editing) this file in a similar fashion will
generally point at the offending portions of it.
- If the above doesn't work, run 'strace' on galeon and look for
something in the output near the end, indicating errors. This is
likely to be very copious:
$ strace galeon 2>&1 | tee galeon.strace.out
...should dump the output to the file 'galeon.strace.out'.
