pgaccess and latin1

Hi,

I am trying out postgresql and pgaccess. I have a charset problem with
pgaccess. When I insert data with pgaccess I cannot insert german
umlauts. Typing a-umlaut end up in the Trademark-Sign.

\l in psql shows the right encoding.

 List of databases
   Name | Owner | Encoding
-----------+----------+----------
 Filme | postgres | LATIN1
 template0 | postgres | LATIN1
 template1 | postgres | LATIN1

So is it a pgaccess-problem? How can I solve it?

Using Debian Woody.

Ciao!
juh
