This is definately a bug in the nvidia driver. I experienced this a
while ago with the older drivers. It got better with the newer ones but
never went completely.
NVidia's support of the TV-out in their drivers is woeful. My personal
opinion is its a macrovision/open source legal clash, and NVidia are
afraid to test the waters.
