Help reconfiguring php4!

Hi there! I'm having trouble reconfiguring php4. I used phpinfo() to get the original configure command. Then I did apt-get source php4 to get the source, then did cd php4-4.1.2 and typed the configure command (at the bottom for your reference).

First, I got an error saying zlib could not be found (weirdly it told me to get libz). I got various packages -- I think zlib1g-dev is the one that finally made it go further.

Next, I get the error:

checking for BZip2 in default path... not found
configure: error: Please reinstall the BZip2 distribution

The only bzip2 package is, well, bzip2, which gets installed in /usr/bin. Is this what configure is looking for? If so, then I'm not telling it how to get it ... at first, I tried the command as it is below. Then I tried changing it to --with-bz2=/usr/bin. Both return the same error.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Jen
