Flash and Konqueror

I'm using KDE on Sid.
Apparently Flash doesn't work on it.

I check my mail on Yahoo, and sometimes one of the
ads that fly by apparently has Flash, as a couple of
new windows will open and ask me to download and
install Flash.

So I download it, untar/unzip it; move the two files
into /usr/local/netscape/plugins; go into Konqueror's
settings and tell it to scan for plugins; check to
see if Flash is in the list of plugins, which it is
(although no version is listed), yet when one of those
ads fly by, the process repeats itself.

What have I done wrong (besides using Yahoo Mail and
trying to get Flash to work ;-)   )?
