Sorry Sean..
I was experimenting with the apt-get build stuff. I know how to build
by hand. At least some easy stuff. But I've had to stop tinkering
now and get some work done. I sunk about a week into this, 7 installs
hours and hours of editing etc. And am no closer to a working setup.
In fact further. In my last two attempts I get no mouse in X either.
Even using the same config files.
I am actually taking some classes and my home work is piling up.
Finals are next week. I have to put this down. Thank you for your
help and I kept lots of the posts from the list. At this point my
feeling is that its just too labor intensive. I want to spend some
time programming and studing too.
I've written hundreds, probably thousands of lines of reports
complaints etc. Received piles of helpful replies. And still no
stable sytem in working order.
