I have essentially the same setup, and I get 300-340FPS I just
found out from glxgears.

I don't know if module order matters, here's mine:

also, I have 

  Option          "accel" "true"

in my device section. I don't think that affects your 
problem, though. I think that's only for 2-d acceleration.

I've only been using this for a week or so. That's as much as I can tell
you. Have you tried nvidia's message boards?
