Probably the reason Linux was able to hijack the loyalties of the free
software community. Having focused developing the tools, the FSF was
taking its sweet time building the core of the Hurd system. So when
Linux came along, everybody just jammed the piece into the unfinished
puzzle. The Best OS is always somebody's thesis.
