Not for mail maybe, but smssend has solved a very similar problem. It has a
simple scripting language for connecting to websites and pushing buttons
etc. It has the ability to dump page output to a file ("Dump"), so you
could well find it was up to the job, at least up to the point of having the
mail in HTML format in a file. Sounds quite fun.
I can't find anything that has been done before either.
