Is this in potato? The current lyx in unstable has more sensible
dependencies:

lyx depends on libforms0.89
libforms0.89 depends on libxpm4 and xlib6g
xlib6g (a pseudo-package) depends on xlibs and libxaw6
xlibs provides libxpm4

If you are in a "resolve conflicts" sub-view, X will cancel the change
that created the conflict (presumably the most recent change in the
top-level view).

No need to read the manual; just enter "?k" in dselect's package
selection view. That will get you to the built-in keyboard help screen.
