Don't worry about this message. You don't need a 'kernel' module for gphoto2. It uses libusb0 (a user-space library) to access your usb device. For my digital camera, I use the following command line: gphoto2 --camera "Canon DIGITAL IXUS v" --port usb -P So we are doing the same except the ':' after usb. Try without it. But I use a home made gphoto2 package. If you still can't use your camera with gphoto2, let me know I can my quick_and_dirty package.
