i use gdm for x manager. does gdm i still use .xsession? i thought that only xdm uses .xsession. if so what would be the corresponding file for gdm?
gdm uses scripts in /etc/gdm/Sessions. If you start Xsession or Debian from gdm, ~/.xsession is used. You could start gnome by starting Xsession and having "exec gnome-session" as last line in your .xsession file.
gnome defaults are in /etc/gnome and uses system default window manager specified in /etc/alternatives/x-window-manager. Your specific gnome window manager would be in ~/.gnome/wm-properties/Config.

Send your FREE holiday greetings online! http://greetings.yahoo.comIf you are using gnome, run gnome control center /window manager and select icewm. If icewm is already the current selection, try a different window manager and then reselect icewm.Or edit .xsession and make last line in the file "exec icewm" -- Jerome__________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
