I've wasted a lot of time with cheap disks - sometimes they work, and
sometimes they don't.  It doesn't seem to be worth the few cents
difference to get good ones.

I use a Yamaha CRW8424S - it attaches to an internal SCSI card, and
works great.  Been using it for over a year now, and no coasters that
weren't my fault.  AFAICR, it was only about US$115 or so - not too
bad as these things go.
