I had to change the permissions of /dev/sg0 to:
$ lsa /dev/sg0
0 crw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 21, 0 Apr 15 2001 /dev/sg0
To enable me to be able to rip cd audio from disks.
It seems that this is required for certain types of cd access. I
haven't tried writing yet but it should be fine...
