Although it's off topic I will dispute your workstation point Frank.

I know a number of people who do not shut down/turn off their workstations
when they leave them. And they do not wish to. They leave their workstations
on and running in their study.

It is neither redicolous nor premature to leave a workstation turned on and
running if that is the way you prefer to have access to your workstation.

Regarding the unjustifiable waste of natural resources, that is only the
case if the workstation is not set up with some kind of power management.

If you care about the environment you are willing to set up proper power
management.

In any case, these workstation users do have an interest in their workstation's
uptime since it says something about just how stable their workstation system
is. It can be quite reassuring seeing your workstation reporting an uptime
in the hundreds of days. It reasures you that it will still be up and running
next time you return to it. It kind of says "This machine and this OS serves
you well". It need not have anything to do with OS religion.

Anyway, Paul _did_ talk about servers.

Cheers :o)
