I tried the following:
# route -n
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
131.181.144.3 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 ppp0
0.0.0.0 131.181.144.3 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 ppp0

Then I did:
# route add -net 131.181.0.0 netmask 255.255.0.0 ppp0
# route del default
# route add default gw 131.181.142.1

# route -n
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
131.181.144.3 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 ppp0
131.181.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 ppp0
0.0.0.0 131.181.142.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 ppp0

But still no worky! I can see all the web pages on qut's network but
nothing outside.

Thanks.
Mark.
