Everybuddy is available, even on potato cds.  I like it.  I know
nothing of gabber though.

Modify /etc/gpm.conf so that the repeat type is "raw" (basically
duplicating whatever it happens to read from the device) and have X
read from /dev/gpmdata instead.  Also be sure and have X and gpm
reading the same protocols.  I use "IMPS/2" in X and whatever that is
spelled as in gpm ("imps2" maybe).  (I have a Logitech MouseMan Wheel)
