Zip installation - help with imm, ppa and diagnostic messagees.
Hello-
I'm having problems installing my Zip. I have it set-up through a
parallel port, and together with a printer, in the customary set-up.
I've already configured the /etc/fstab with
/dev/sda1 /mnt/zip ext2 noauto,user 0 0
/dev/sda4 /mnt/dos msdos noauto,user 0 0
If I try to mount /mnt/zip, I get:
siddhi:~# mount /zip
mount: can't find /zip in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
siddhi:~# mount /mnt/zip
mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/sda1 as a block device
(maybe `insmod driver'?)
Somebody told me the new Zip work with the imm module. In my dsmeg, I
have
imm: Version 2.03 (for Linux 2.0.0)
When I give de lsmod|more command, I don't see neither the ppa, nor the
imm modules loaded.
However, if I try to load any of them, I get:
siddhi:~# insmod /lib/modules/2.2.18pre21/scsi/imm.o
/lib/modules/2.2.18pre21/scsi/imm.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
Hint: this error can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including
invalid IO or IRQ parameters
I have my printer up and running. It's on. Is that why it's "busy"? But
so what? The Zip and the printer are supposed to be on friendly terms!
Same thing with ppa:
siddhi:~# insmod /lib/modules/2.2.18pre21/scsi/ppa.o
/lib/modules/2.2.18pre21/scsi/ppa.o: init_module: Dispositivo ou recurso
está ocupado
Hint: this error can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including
invalid IO or IRQ parameters
In /proc/interrupts, /proc/dma, and /proc/ioports, I have.

Anyone have an idea, or diagnosis? Should I have included more info?
Thanks!
