Actually, this is a FAQ: Taken from
/usr/share/doc/xfree86-common/XFree86-FAQ.text.gz:
"Q.D2- My screen is too large. How can I disable the virtual desktop?"
The answer is too long to quote ;) Take a look at it....


But simply: Make sure, you just have _one_ Mode "1024x768" in your 
Display SubSection and no Virtual keyword/Virtual keyword set to
"1024x768".
