You'll want to setup packet filtering with ipchains (kernel 2.2.x) or iptables (kernel 2.4.x), and masquerading for the Win98 box. The fact that you'll be running bot programs shouldn't be a problem. If it accepts incoming connections, you'll have to open those ports up in your packet filtering rules.
