Emacs browse-url.el and galeon or skipstone browsers?

There is currently a proliferation of Mozilla-based browsers
(e.g. galeon and skipstone) which I'd like to switch to, but I
won't without being able to use Emacs' browse-url. It's just too
convenient.

I have tried to use them with browse-url with the following
results:

 skipstone:

   (setq browse-url-netscape-program "skipstone")

clicking an a URL brings up skipstone but not on the requested
URL. It comes up on a Netscape `Smart Browsing was unable to
match your request' page. It seems skipstone doesn't handle
  remote?

 galeon:

   (setq browse-url-netscape-program "galeon")

clicking on a URL brings up a new browser each time, not
  recycling the initial browser.

Have anyone had better results (and if so, how did you go about
it).

Thanks,
