Hey! I have exactly the same problem! I wanted to switch from Suse 6.0 to
Potato but even with the same configuration files, it didn't work on Debian,
even though it works on Suse. I am using 2.2.19 on Debian, and 2.2.13 on
Suse, but the symptoms are the same if i use 2.2.13 on Debian too.
I get (in syslog):
ipppd[582]: sent [0][LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <mru 1500> <magic 0x51714c38> <pcomp>
<accomp>]
ipppd[398]: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
The FAQ says, that the ConfReq id=0x1 errors are if "auth" is enabled by
mistake - but it's not in my configuration, nowhere - even setting "noauth"
doesn't help.
