There were Major warning on Japanese page of doing it.  Newer BIOS TOOL
has issue doing this hack. You need 1.09 versdion.  1.11 and later is no
good.

I remember there was ATA66 controller with 1 resistor hack.  Basically
it is software assisted raid with some hardware acceleration if I recall
it right.

The way this site describe this new hack sounds like a same thing.

2 register and hardwiring.  BIOS rewite.
