My understanding is that most current reiserfs issues involve 2.4 kernels. ReiserFS under 2.2.18+ is pretty stable. 2.4 is not recommended unless you're involved in reiserfs development or hate yourself (or the "friend" whose system you're configuring ;-) -- Karsten M.
