Read: "apt-get install kernel-image-2.2.19"

Use another floppy...

Does /boot/vmlinuz exist? It's a symlink here to /boot/vmlinuz-2.2.19

(partly wrong)
Here's one that should work... note the "boot" setting, verify all
paths, run "lilo -v".

lba32
boot=/dev/hda
root=/dev/hda1
compact
install=/boot/boot.b
map=/boot/map
prompt
single-key
timeout=50
verbose=1
vga=normal
default=Linux

image=/boot/vmlinuz
	label=Linux
	read-only
	alias=1

# keep the old working kernel just in case
image=/boot/vmlinuz.old
	label=LinuxOLD
	read-only
	alias=o
