Just curious. Why are there still no official (Sid, Woody, Potato or
otherwise) packages for galeon? I've been happily compiling it since
version 0.8 something (or was it 0.08?) when it was linked to Moz
M18. If not the latest and greatest (.1+), why not the version that
used M18?
To answer the original poster, do:
fakeroot
apt-get source -b gnome-vfs
If it doesn't build (as I'm pretty sure it won't), exit then look for
and grep the file gnome-vfs_1.0-2.dsc:
Build-Depends: libgnome-dev (>= 1.2.0), gtk-doc-tools, libgconf-dev
(>= 0.11), liboaf-dev (>= 0.6.2), libxml-dev, libbz2-dev, gettext,
debhelper (>> 2.0.0), zlib1g-dev
apt-get everything on the Build-Depends line that isn't installed on
your system.
Do this recursively and you will wind up with your own spanking new
galeon .deb. I like all my apps to come in neat little packages.
