Which one. You've got a GNU/Linux box and a Legacy MS Windows box.

You do have to specify a display. E.g.:
$ xvncviewer localhost:2
The display is echoed when you launch xvncserver.

According to posts, I believe so.
BTW, you shouldn't run VNC unsecured on an open network. You're going
to want SSH no matter what.
