There is a way to do this using exim. I do it on my home machine, which hosts about 5 different phony-baloney lefty domains. I don't recall right away how to do it, but I recall that the manual is pretty clear if you drill down to the right place. I don't know how exim scales to very large sites, though it is alleged to do well.
