and in that noise, I forgot to react to this one:(
had it on my todo list, but it slipped my mind.

I had the same problem, proposed-updates/security didn't work out:(
So I downgraded, problems gone.  Use dpgk -i /cdrom/.../inn...

downgrade to inn2-inews 2.2.2.2000.01.31-4
seems to work with inn 2.2.2.2000.01.31-4.1
