Re: permissions for mounted vfat



Have you set the umask correctly? Because FAT doesn't have a permissions
scheme of its own, permissions are based on how it's mounted.  On my home
system (no access by other than fully trusted users), I use:

mount -tvfat -oumask=0000 /dev/xxx /rosa

which mounts it such that everything in the filesyste is 777 (everybody
can do anything). You might want to be more cautious with a more public
machine. Check man vfat for more info.
