Re: fstab entry for cd-rw device?



After reading your message and dmesg:

Your CD-ROM is still connected as IDE CD-ROM at hdc.  No wonder you can not 
mount as scd0.

Did you run lilo after adding append line?  Or are you booting
right kernel where you added append line?

Anyway, you should read CD-Writing-HOWTO first.  

That should answer your question. 

Couple points:
1.  Loading sg before ide-scsi is correct and needed!
2.  You may be missing device node.  Did you do anything funny?
3.  ignore=hdc is needed for certain kernel versions with some compile 
    option but not for current debian stock kernel 2.2.
