Sure, /etc/hosts.  Add something like the following:
127.0.0.1        adserver.naughtybannerserver.com

Alternatively, you could block out ads using ipchains:
ipchains -A input -s adserver.naughtybannerserver.com -d 0.0.0.0/0 -j REJECT

Or, you could use junkbuster to filter the traffic.
