The patches are not so great backports from the 2.4* kernels, so the easiest way to get the card to work with my experience is to use 2.4* kernels, I have been using them with the card since around 2.4.0test1 or so, and it works out great for me, but your luck may be different with the test kernels. Just my 2 cents worth.
