Problems building kernel on fresh woody box.

Hi,

I'm encountering some problems building a new kernel (2.4.0test10) on my
Woody box (Asus A7 with AMD Duron). I figure this is due to the fact woody
is using some new version of gcc? Therefor, I've looked through all the
information I could imagine, and came up with this solution: building my
own gcc (gcc 2.91). Unfortunately, this doesn't work. That's why I got the
source of gcc 2.95.2 and tried compiling that one myself, which broke off
with the same error I got while trying to compile
2.91: indstream.cc:XX: 'struct streampos' used where a 'int' was expected,
with XX some numbers.

So, how should I compile these versions of gcc on my machine, or can I
find some pre-compiled versions somewhere? (apt-cache search gcc only
showed gcc 2.72, which is no longer supported for building the newer
kernels according to the documentation...)

Thanks!
