After about 5 minutes I get:
ftp: connect: Connection timed out.


How do I tell the console to use my proxy server the way Netscape does? 
I thought that all of that would be taken care of by setting up tcp/ip. 
Since Netscape works, I am puzzled about the console.  I can't use
apt-get or anything that uses the console to connect to the Internet.
