command "tree" and "depmode" returnes in "unknowm" + verifing packages
The Debian2.2 system I recently installed does not accept the command
"tree" and "depmode".
I tried searching by:
MINI:~# dpkg -l modutils
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
|
Status=Not/Installed/Config-files/Unpacked/Failed-config/Half-installed
|/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err:
uppercase=bad)
||/ Name Version Description
+++-==============-==============-============================================
ii modutils 2.3.11-8 Linux module utilities.
MINI:~# dpkg -l tree
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
|
Status=Not/Installed/Config-files/Unpacked/Failed-config/Half-installed
|/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err:
uppercase=bad)
||/ Name Version Description
+++-==============-==============-============================================
pn tree <none> (no description available)
MINI:~#
But how can a previuosly installed package be veryfied and how can one
find a certain routine (like "tree") out of all provided packages?
Any help is grately appreciated
Robert
