The Diamond Viper 770 is based on the NVidia TNT2 chip. It's
supported by the SVGA server in X 3.3.6. For 4.0.1, you can use the
"nv" driver, or you can go to NVidia's website (http://www.nvidia.com)
to download their accelerated server.
