thats what i have done. sveral times, with several latin-1 packages. Everytime the same: The testing works o.k. but the console doesn't want it..

It is there:

Yes, I know. I copied XF86cpnfig from an other installation with the same graf.-card + monitor and it don't work. I also have run XF86Setup again and again, nothing works.
Well emacs, at least, works o.k. I don't know why...
