Modem not working

Hi there,

I'm having a bit of a problem getting my modem working under Debian
Slink 2.1, and really I'm beginning to think that I will have to do
something drastic as playing with jumpers.

It's a SupraSST 56i PRO DF card (Diamond Multimedia), and it seems to
use something called Modem Enumerator and as I'm by no means a modem
specialist I can only guess that that's a driver of some kind. Anyway,
it works perfectly in Windows, but Linux doesn't seem to figure it out,
it figures out that there is a serial card on com3/ttyS2, but can't get
information on UART or anything else. I've tried every trick I can think
of using setserial, but nothing happens. Does anybody have any
experience with this modem? I saw on Linux.com that someone had
configured it manually by moving the jumpers around, but I'm not sure if
I like to try that on my own. Any takers?

regards,

Guðmundur
