Of course not, but I have tried both --- after your letter. Nothing helps.

I think anyway the solution I suggested -- to re-write nfsd to check the
same mount point first was correct, because tcp standard may to use
time-out. Only one problem, nfs uses udp :(.
Unmounting is not a big problem but keeping up-to-time /etc/rmtab is,
otherwise nfsd thinks there are lots of open files.

BTW, did you try diskless with Linux 2.2.12? How did you make swap via
NFS?
