- From the man-page for ftp:

  reget remote-file [local-file]
          Reget [...] is
          useful when transferring very large files over networks that
          are prone to dropping connections.

Just remember to set transfermode to binary (see man-page) first. The
ASCII mode is a PITA IMHO. (It assumes the file is an ASCII text file
IIRC and might transform it, like inserting linebreaks, which is a
very bad thing if it's a binary file.)
