Re: root read only + can't remount it
are you using this command:
mount -o remount,rw <device>/<partition> <mountpoint>
it should work. since linux mounted it readonly, id suggest running a
e2fsck on it (/sbin/e2fsck <device>/<partition> BEFORE the remount.
