Need help for x window

Hi. I have recently installed the x packages from cd. When I type startx I
receive:

Could not find file!
Tried
	/root/xf86config
	/etc/x11/ef86config
	/usr/x11r6/lib/x11/xf86config.debian
	/usr/x11r6/lib/x11/xf86config

Fatal server error:
No config file found!

-x11TransSocketUNIConnect: Can't connect: errno= 111 Giving up.
xinit: connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to x server
xinit: no such process (errno 3): server error.

My question is how do I find and properly install xf86config? I'm pretty
sure that I installed all the x packages in dselect. Could someone help me
in layman's terms?
