Hmmm, let's see what packages you have on hold --- just a shot in the
dark. Please do:
sgrep -e '(DEB_PKG containing (DEB_STATUS containing "hold"))' < /var/lib/dpkg/status | grep '^Package: \|^Status: \|^Version:'
