Re: Root password
easiest way to recover root password:
boot with rescue disk
mount root partition
edit /etc/shadow
remove the password for root in /etc/shadow (remove it in /etc/shadow- too
just incase)
reboot into normal mode
set a new root password
works fine on linux and also works on IRIX
